Devinda Kongahage is an acclaimed Sri Lankan film director, producer, and screenwriter with a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the film and television industry. With a passion for storytelling that blends historical depth with contemporary relevance, Devinda has created numerous award-winning films and documentaries that have garnered both national and international recognition.
Educated at the University of Sri Jayawardhanapura with a background in Management, Devinda further honed his craft through specialized studies in Cinema and Filmmaking, including self-study of the New York Film Academy curriculum and participation in international cinema forums in Germany, France, and India.
His filmography includes critically acclaimed works such as "Bhavatharana," which won the Best Film award at the Delhi International Film Festival 2015, and "Girivassipura," an epic historical production that was the first Sri Lankan film to be released through an official distribution chain in New Zealand.
